What makes goGenerous different?

I recently had someone tell me that our goGenerous program is "before it's time".

Why? I asked and his reply indicated that he did not think that businesses would be able to understand the benefit of "sharing" information with their competitors.

Sharing... hmmm, can there be any good that could come from sharing in this time and age?

Let's see, Facebook encourages us to share what's currently on our mind with friends and family. LinkedIn encourages us to share our professional expertise.  Twitter encourages us to share tweets.

As this country struggles to regain economical traction, it seems very clear that we in fact have reverted to the basics and if my memory serves me correct, "sharing" as a child was vital to my social acceptance.

Nevertheless, how does going Generous relate to getting back to the basics?

When your company goes Generous, you participate in "sharing" fundraising information.  This program does not promote volunteerism; there are plenty of other effective forums for that such as www.volunteermatch.org.  Our members simply help with getting the word out... sharing what they know.

Going Generous, is different because what we share has an enormous impact on those that try to make the world a better place.  It is so simple to be a significant voice amongst your peers.

Today, I respectfully disagree with my new friend and truly believe that if ever there was a time for us to come together and share relevant information, that time would be now!
