This month's donation goes to the Magnuson family.
Friends and family of the Magnuson's of MN held a local spaghetti dinner and silent auction this past September. Funds that were raised helped offset expenses incurred for the medical treatment of their son Tyler Magnuson who has since past into the hands of God.
On February 15 2008, Selfless Opportunities was certified as a legitimate LLC by the Minnesota Secretary of State and we began our work. Our branded Community Events Channels and www.goGenerous.com was developed to help spread the word and raise attendance at events like the Magnuson's fundraiser.
The Magnuson's story is unfortunately one of 100,000,000 other stories that continue to unfold across this beautiful country of ours. While they all may have their own twists and turns, each and every one of them needs our support to make it through.
I have also come to realize that spreading the word about these unfortunate, (but necessary) events is all-too-often perceived to be someone else's job. After all, we do not want to be messengers of bad news... right?
Please understand that the #1 challenge for all charitable initiatives is in the marketing of their events. For Tyler's event, it was up to a small group of generous friends and neighbors to insure the event's success.
Durring this month of November, would you please consider sending your friends and family members our CEC Weekly calendar Updates. It's simple; it keeps you in touch and brings your community together. It truly will help raise attendance and make a difference!
Audrey Hepburn said it best, "The very best thing to hold onto in this life is each other".
You can learn more about Gregg and Mary Magnuson's family story as well as several other families that have fought their fight at www.caringbridge.org/visit/tylermagnuson.
Please keep them in your prayers and enjoy November!
