Social Entrepreneurship!
The 21st century is seeing the rise of a new kind of entrepreneur - the Social Entrepreneur - who is creating a brand new model for business.

A social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to create a marketable venture focused on making social change. While a business entrepreneur typically measures performance strictly on profit and return, a social entrepreneur assesses success in terms of the impact he or she has on society as well as on the general success of the business.

No longer is social change solely in the hands of the non-profit sector. Many social entrepreneurs have been quietly working in the for-profit and governmental sectors and making an important impact on society through mainstream business endeavors. Now social entrepreneurship is bringing social change into the mainstream business world by going well beyond traditional profit models and directly addressing social, societal, and environmental goals within the structure of the business plan. Social entrepreneurship enterprises are "more-than-profit" businesses. By using progressive business models that combine a revenue-generating business with a social-value-generating structure or component, social entrepreneurs will redefine free enterprise as we know it. There are already a number of models emerging ranging from twin corporations and spin-off non-profits, to for-profit businesses that dedicate and donate a portion of their proceeds. Chances are these are just first steps in the creation of an entirely new type of business model.

Chicks with Checks is on the forefront of the social entrepreneurship movement creating a networking business devoted to supporting social change by donating a portion of our dues to local non-profits. By building on two of today's hottest trends - social networking and giving circles - Chicks with Checks is pioneering the New World Order in business. It's a winning arrangement for all involved.
